About Me
I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 16 years of experience providing psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, couples, and groups. I work with clients from all backgrounds and with a wide variety of issues, some of the most common being depression, anxiety/stress, relationship issues, grief, and difficulties related to change. I have special interests in mental health related to family of origin* difficulties which I have found can impact ones current well-being, relationships, and sense of identity. I also believe in the importance of a holistic approach to mental health and have had training and experiencing in the delivery of preventive, consultative, assessment, and treatment which has earned me the designation of Heath Service Psychologist by the National Registry. My style is interactive, attentive, and empathic. In our work I collaborate with you to fully understand what brought you in and how I can be helpful. In general, I will listen attentively, respond empathically, share insight, and support your interpersonal goals. I use an integrative approach to therapy that draws from a range of psychological theories that have been found to foster change. More specifically I incorporate psychodynamic thinking with interpersonal, systems, existential/humanistic, cognitive behavioral, and mindfulness-based approaches. *family of origin: the family we grew up in or were born into |
